Nancy J. Jones Housing Insecurities Endowment Fund
Nancy J. Jones, Founder IOC
Nancy Jones founded Interfaith Outreach of Carmel (IOC) in 2010 with the idea that local faith communities could work together to help people in Monterey County who were struggling with housing and homelessness.
That effort eventually led to the creation of Joining Hands Benefit Shop. Through the shop, donated clothing, furniture, jewelry and household goods are sold, with proceeds going back into the community through grants to local nonprofit organizations.
What started as a small volunteer effort grew into something much larger. Over the years, Joining Hands has raised and distributed hundreds of thousands of dollars to organizations helping people throughout Monterey County.
The Nancy J. Jones Housing Insecurities Endowment Fund was established in Nancy’s honor to help carry that work forward.
The Fund supports the long-term mission of Interfaith Outreach of Carmel and Joining Hands Benefit Shop, helping ensure that local organizations working to address homelessness and housing insecurity can continue to receive support in the years ahead.
It is a way to recognize what Nancy started, while helping make sure the work continues.
